It’s weird. There have been folks who have been charmed endlessly by this man, and then there are folks like me who saw him for the hypersexual creep that he has always been.

Also, it’s been known that Katherine Ryan has effectively called him out to his face on a panel show, and also did a documentary with Louis Theroux and talking about Russel Brand’s behaviour without directly or indirectly addressing him for litigious reasons.

Just checked the guy’s YouTube, and it seems he is on the anti-vax, right-wing train for some time.

Here is a reddit thread from about 9 months ago when it was just rumours:

Wow turns out Londongirl7 really was speaking the truth in that thread.

Thank you for the added context. My most recent memory of Brand was his podcast “Under the Skin”, in which I remember him coming off like a leftist Joe Rogan (and I mean that as a compliment), at least when I listened. Sad to see there was all this darkness under his skin this whole time.

I used to really enjoy his stuff a few years ago. He started inviting right wing people and conspiracy theorists on and he was genuinely trying to challenge their beliefs. Then I noticed it slowly turn from a light debate to a full promotion of these people.

I’d already stopped listening by the time we got to Covid but I caught up with him early on and he was doing a whole anti mask thing which was so far from what he’d originally been supporting.

For many people that have gotten caught doing awful things, there are positive things you can say about them. “I liked Tom Cruise in Top Gun.” “I liked Mel Gibson in Mad Max.” “I probably never laughed harder at a comedian than Louis C.K.” I don’t like appearing to support these people, so I avoid saying these things out loud. Richard went the other way with Graham Linehan’s book earlier in the week, and - I don’t know how friendly they are off-camera - but, I suppose Richard’s publicist is concerned about him saying something nice about Brand this week.

Oh, that’s a pretty tenuous link to this story. You made it sound like he had also been accused of something.
