Germany reopened coal mines cause it was too scared of alternatives like nuclear. To me that’s like stabing yourself with a knife cause you are afraid of a bug bite

Not to be disrespectful to the Germans who are suffering, but maybe now they will not support coal power plants.

1·7 days agoDifferent kind of complex 😅 to be honest is more complicated than complex. Believe it or not it is done the old fashion way, we use string and lacker to seal the envelops like in medieval times, and the protocols dictate that all present must sign and write their recount of events. It’s a lot of fun and paper

8·7 days agoSome things are meat to be time consuming and hard. You cannot hurry things like learning or maturity, our current world has convince us that faster is always better, but that is not always the case. I always volunteer for voting counting and despite the fact that it takes from 7am to 10 pm on a Sunday I enjoy doing it, you feel like you are part of the cogs of democracy, doing your part to ensure the democracy works as intended, like you take part In something greater than yourself, you set aside your political filiation and do your part

131·7 days agoI agree, I live in a country that still uses papel ballouts (Portugal if you’re curious) and on election day representatives from.diferent parties, volunteers, and government officials count the votes by hand, the whole process is bureaucratic, time consuming, and incredibly complex, but that’s exactly what makes it almost foll proof, there is no way you can alter votes in a meaningful way without a lot of people noticing, and even if by some miracle you did, the very next day all the votes get re counted in front of a judge and other set of volunteers chosen randomly.
At this point I rather serve an AI overlord than our current Human Epstein’s class overlords. Sadly AI is working for them

1·15 days agoI’m not saying there is no bad, I am not stupid. But the information we receive in the west is so one sided that I have to question everything they say about China. For example, the “social credit” is something that doesn’t exist in China, yet we saw endless news articles in the west about it, made me question what else are they lying about, as it turns out, a lot

26·16 days agoDon’t bother, he likes to eat his propaganda by the spoonful. China kills 100000000000000000000000000x 10*9 yogurts every minute, etc. Every accusation is an admission of guilt, what they blame China is exactly what the USA has done, still does, and will do
Absolutely, but that’s the way things go, no repair, simply trow it away
Calm down, the cabin probably already comes with all the connections inside, you probably just need to connect the hot and cold water and the sewer line.

Seems like nuclear power plants leaking would be big news in Europe, we are not living in the Simpsons universe, so I would also like a source on that. I am all up for renewables, but the fear mongering and hate of nuclear energy is not racional, the amount of human deaths caused per TWh of coal is 58 people while nuclear has only killed 0.003 people per the same amount of energy produced, and this isn’t even considering the global warming effects and associated deaths. So yeah renewables are better than nuclear, but nuclear is vaaaaaaaaaaaaaastly better than coal
