Note to self to reply properly later. Some interesting ideas in here, especially with regard to your points on self-crit.
Narcissists are constantly self-critting. Our grandiose personas are just lies we used to insulate ourselves from our own self-hatred. Our failures make us want to kill ourselves. That can go in the direction of cowardice where we refuse to face the failures constantly bothering us, but if a narcissist has a brave bone in their body they can leverage that into addressing their failures and becoming an awesome person.
