I was in a hurry the other week and stashed the tyre pump and battery separately. Found the pump yesterday and was like, yeah, I have a vague memory of that and thought hmm, maybe I took the battery (I have a few batteries so wouldn’t have noticed it was missing) back inside.
Nope, just found the battery somewhere I wouldn’t had thought to look if it wasn’t for my putting something else away…
I do stuff like that more often than I’d care to admit. One spectacular example was stashing my new credit card so safely that I couldn’t find it, then had to cancel and order a new one. Then I found the original one, of course
