Am sick 🤢. In hindsight having to google the number of days in a year yesterday should have been a giveaway. throat feels like hell. Back to bed I guess.

Hope you feel better soon mate!

On the number of days in a year though, for the rest of our lives it’s now very easy: 20 is divisible by 4 so you can completely ignore the first two digits as 20/4 == 5, so then it’s just the next two digits to think about, so 25/4 doesn’t work without a remainder so it’s definitely 365, so 2028 will be 366, 2032 will be 366, otherwise it’ll be 365.

          It’s legit.

          Since it turned 2000 every leap year is just primary school level 4 times table. So 4, 8, 12,.16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44 etc!

          So, 2096 will have 366 days, because it’s 24*4 :D

To take that one step further, it is easy to find out the day of the week next year because 365 days = 52 weeks plus one day.

            That means:
            2026’s June 20 is a Saturday
            2027’s is Sunday.
2028 is a leap year where there is an extra day in February, so we count an extra day: 2028’s June 20 is a Tuesday.

              Lol, love this.

But try applying this with the now deprecated EFA calendar where the month always starts on a Monday.

It’s easy to learn if you know your 4 times table! I’m happy to help you!

Basically from what I said, if you take the last two digits of the year we’re in, and they’re divisible by 4 you’re in a leap year. If they’re not then it’s always 365 days, unless we as a society start accounting for the fractions.

Regarding the days of the week, they move based on predictable futures regardless of the calendar we are using. Hence the hidden joke.

My body is sore in a good way (from workouts), it’s a sunny Friday and I’m WFH, I had a full night’s sleep… so why am I feeling like a grump this morning? REA inspection maybe? A creaky bra that sounds like a fuckin’ old ship? Just the cold in general? Gahhhh. I think I need some chocolate. Ohhh I think I’m hungry.

Oh feck no, I’ve woken up at 6am and have a REA inspection today supposedly within a 4 hour window starting from 9am. If I try and go back to sleep now I risk being naked when they get here, so gotta power through until they’re gone. Which might not be until 1:30pm.

What a pointless waste of a day and needless stress.

Not that I would do it (too shy), but I love the idea of greeting the REA in the nude and showing them around like that. They’d be too unsettled to notice any dust or scuff marks

What? This is what I always wear at home

One year whilst my rental provider decided to sell whilst I was on a lease I genuinely told the REA that I would be naked at their proposed time.

        They cancelled.

Completely true story, and I would’ve 100% been naked considering I used to enforce naked Sundays in a previous share house.

Edit: Please never be shy to be naked, you are you.

One bloke was allowed a sock on his knob because he also wore a gimp mask.

One guy got away with underwear because he had a good playlist.

Firefighters rescued my naked mates from an elevator.

            I wish I was lying.

Buy yah, if you weren’t comfortable then obviously it was ok to be clothed. No pressure whatsoever, just people thought “fuck it”.

Working from home today, just because. It’s been a mentally big week with the ecommerce launch and Head Office country has a public holiday today so not much would be getting done anyway

Would never have thought as a kid I’d some day be excited to wake up early and appraise the damage the new cheapo weed burner has inflicted from the day before.

It’s very relaxing for some reason.

Also the new ICU at st. vincents is very impressive. the ones I’ve been to before are depressing af, but that one has a huge amount of space (and less noise) which is way less confronting for patients. ol’ girl was complaining about being bored and not annoyed which is good.

Have been out of the gym for 2 months-ish. There was a huge billing issue and I couldn’t be fucked dealing with it.

    All sorted now.

Straight there after work. Bring on the happy chemicals.

I think I will spend most my time on holiday in NZ reading and studying. I’ll have no cats to bug and disturb me. 🙂
