@maniacalmanicmania they’re all dirty easterners
Yeah, the Victorian is telling me about how Melbourne is the best place to get coffee and the Queenslander is trying to sell me magic mushrooms, at a good price tho.
What about a Westralian?
Tax free miners getting rich of our resources. Our politicians getting fat jobs with them after finishing with government. Etc.
Easy to spot WA folk. They’re all slightly ashamed that they’re part of the reason we don’t have free hospitals, university and a higher standard of living.
“Something… something… SAND!!!.. something… minesite… something… something… the Ore must flow.” Direct quote.
We’re either selling you meth or offering you a FIFO job. Hell, sometimes both.
Its language use not just accent, so a Victorian would say a bag, a Queenslander would say a port.
I’m an almost life long QLDer and ‘a port’ to me would mean a fortified wine…
Or where the boats come in
Port? Use of “port” to denote a bag, suitcase, or other “carry all”?
Only octogenarians use “port” in this manner…
Having my millionth conversation with a Victorian about South Australians calling “power poles” Stobey Poles. That’s because that’s what they are.
Thank you! I didn’t know what to call these since moving to Adelaide. They are everywhere!
Apparently I’m hopeless, they all just sound “Australian” to me. I didn’t even know there was much state-by-state difference lol
Definately used to notice a South Australian or Adelaide accent. Not so much anymore. Not sure if things in the ground have changed or if my hearing is getting worse.
