I really missed the style of anime from the 80s and 90s. Ranma 1/2, the 1997 Birdy the Mighty, Trigun, Sailor Moon, Rurouni Kenshin, Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Conan, Urusei Yatsura, etc
Idk why that style ever faded away, tbh, but I reckon it might have to do with the old artists being phased out and newer 3d blanks being used to replace the old traditional wooden poser doll models.
I’m enjoying some newer series bringing older styles back. At least in some ways.
There are the recent remakes of older series, and what we’ve seen of the new GITS seems faithful to the mangas style.
I am unreasonably excited about the new GITS.
Same.
I’m trying to keep my expectations in check, but man am I hopeful.
Remakes and remakes of remakes and reboots and time skips to justify a new trilogy, I’ve been sick of the dead horse beating industry since even before Disney was a monopoly. Hard pass.
GITS was never directly adapted into an anime.
It’s not a remake.
Never really been a big fan of the waifu concept, but if had to pick one, it’d be her. She checks so many of my boxes. Absolutely the best.
