We don’t understand happiness or contentment and so money is the north star.

So our society is run by brain broken rich people, who continue a destructive pattern of behavior long after it’s useful. To them I guess happiness feels like materialism. I assume that’s why they project jealousy on everyone and view everything as a zero sum game.

It’s kinda hard not to be depressed and to live without pills when you realize that practically all of the world’s problems are entirely artificial, and most could be solved in a manner of years.

If it wasn’t for bloodthirsty, sociopathic pedophiles and mass murderers, for whom the only objective in life is creating as much suffering as possible and raping as many children as possible.

The entire world came together to fix a massive hole in our atmosphere.

But we can’t be bothered to feed people.

Yes, some people actually need antidepressants but we will never know who those people are because the bar is so low for prescribing antidepressants.

    1. fill out a short questionnaire with limited options for answers.

    2. no further significant clinical evaluation done like bloodwork, scans or testing is performed. Providers are just eyeball low levels of hormones in your brain.

    3. not enough time for a provider to come up with a proper treatment in a 15 minute appointment. Providers can’t overhaul the system they work in. They have 40 other people to see today.

    4. Kickbacks. Wait, that’s illegal and never happens.

was prescribed tricyclic antidepressants off label for pain. doc told me they weren’t addictive. they lied. soul–crushing anxiety withdrawal. symptoms improved immediately with one dose. ‘dependency’ is what they called it. pain would have been easier to deal with. two years of tapering and treating anxiety with SSRI etc. nortriptyline is addictive. say no. weed has no withdrawals and helps with the pain.

That’s fair. Your therapist isn’t there to fix the whole world with you.

That what you do outside the therapy room

I have pills like that but they have trouble dredging my mind up past the 70% mark. My baseline is suicidally low.

Oof. And your insurance won’t cover the ones that work for you so hope you can get a hardship application in.

Or the doctor won’t prescribe the one you know works unless you try 2-3 that gave you a psychotic break last time because “It works for most people”.

They don’t even do that. I still hate it here, I just don’t get so easily sucked into an immobilizing “death spiral” of dwelling on just how badly I want to not be on this planet
