The reason Massie is calling this out is because he is getting the necessary signatures for a discharge petition (a process that allows a bill to get to the floor for a vote despite a Speaker’s blockade) going for the Epstein Files Transparency Act II, but Mike “I Protect Presidential Pedos” Johnson can’t actually let it come to the floor for a full vote because votes are public.
So Mike Johnson is keeping Congress out until the day after the midterms because he can’t let his delicate snowflakes go on record as either voting for EFTA II (which will make Trump very angry) or voting against it (which will make sentient beings with active consciences very angry).
It’s that simple. Yeah, Massie’s a Republican. But he’s literally trying to do the right thing here, and it’s working so well that Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House, is choosing to fucking shut down Congress than let a vote on EFTA II come to the floor.
Yes. This shutdown of Congress really is all about protecting a pedo. This is not hyperbole. It is actually happening.
Massie’s a Republican. But he’s literally trying to do the right thing here
That’s honestly so shocking I wonder what alterior motive he has.
His motive is to gain name recognition so that he can win votes in the future. Massie will say whatever he can to be elected in the future and this community is falling for it by amplifying his voice.
Check out his score card throughout the years: he’s not our friend: https://aflcio.org/scorecard/legislators/thomas-massie
Technically speaking, there is more to being a member of Congress than being in Congress and debating/voting. There is a lot they do for local constituents.
That said, a lot of what they do is certainly fundraising… of various kinds. And running for office. So I’m not saying the claims are totally false by any means. But it’s not quite as bad as that makes it look. Only mostly as bad or so.
If you plan to upvote this post or did upvote it already I just want to provide context on Thomas Massie and why you shouldn’t:
He is not a friend of the working class! https://aflcio.org/scorecard/legislators/thomas-massie
Over the past 10+ years he has continually and consistently voted against worker rights in multiple aspects.
He now got booted out of his party so he will say whatever he can to try and get votes in the future. Remember, he can say all this stuff but when it comes to votes, he will vote against your interest. Amplifying his cute tweets will cause more harm than good for the worker.
Thomas Massie should not be considered a friend or ally of Work Reform! Downvote this post, we have plenty of politicians we should be posting on here that actually vote for workers when it actually counts!
Yeah, we know, dipshit. Calling it out doesn’t actually do anything.
I suspect a whole lot of people don’t know this.
This plus he lost his seat by standing up to the pedo turd with his support to have the Epstein Files released, so I guess that bought him some goodwill. And whoever Diaper Donny got to replace him with will not just be republican, but inner death cult loyal to dear leader.
That last part is what people don’t understand about why you can’t get rid of him with elections anymore. The parasite took over half of the us political spectrum.
Yep. Massie is specifically calling this out because of the Epstein files: Johnson can’t let the house remain in session long enough for Massie to get a vote on EFTA II.
The fact that this community is upvoting Thomas Massie blows my mind. What a great idea to amplify the voice of this union buster!
Hey pal, i see you everywhere in the last two weeks. You’d do really well to not try to turn this into another reddit. All I see you do is instigate. It’s a great talent, but use it on us vs the Epstein class not “this community this and that community that”.
This community isn’t upvoting Thomas Massie, just that he wrote is what resonates with people.
Oh yeah, this is the user that went into every thread about the campaign attack in Ohio saying she deserved it. I doubt any appeals to reason will land with this person.
Lol so holding this community accountable is not allowed? Ok I’ll unsubscribe. Just want to thank this community for amplifying the voice of someone that consistently voted against worker interest. He talks the talk but he doesn’t walk the walk. He also plans to run for future office and now he’s amplified here instead of somebody that’s a Democrat that says the same thing but actually votes for American workers. Insanity, Americans will continue to vote against their own interests because a politician said something they liked once. 🤣🤣
Rep. Thomas Massie | AFL-CIO https://aflcio.org/scorecard/legislators/thomas-massie
Yo y a Republican posting this? I’m sure a few corporate Dems would actually be thrilled to get rid of some holidays. What’s good for the corporations is good for the corporate Dems…
Update: you downvoting me but upvoting a Republican saying this? Funny… Who knew a Republican would be the golden child of work reform? 🤣
Keep amplifying the voice of someone who is anti union. That’s the way we get work reform!
Keep basing politics on people and party lines rather than on substance… that way, we’ll definitely move forward as a society and won’t end up divided and paralyzed because “he said that, so it must be wrong.” It’s been working perfectly in the U.S. for decades now, and of course it’s not at all the reason for the shitty situation the country finds itself in right now. /s
Huh? https://aflcio.org/scorecard/legislators/thomas-massie This is his substance! He continually voted against worker interest and you people amplify him! There are plenty of politicians this community should be amplifying yet you people upvotes a fuck that says something that “resonates” with you but he will vote to screw you over in the future. DELUSIONAL, please fucking ban me because I’m leaving anyway!
