Why were there not character LODs from the beginning lol
Amateur hour I guess.
LODs should be something you build in from the start. Start with some low poly models for early prototyping, and then the art team sends updated models as they get completed. All of that would be done well before pre-release testing and tuning happens.
Flatland is a nice New Year’s gift, no more need to be Der Bügelmann (The Clothes-Iron Man) on the entire landscape before developing.
Also, fact that they say “No Paid DLC til we fix our game” is encouraging in contrast with the Payday 3 devs.
Wait, didn’t they say the character models weren’t part of the problem? I smell bullshit…
I have xmas vacation coming up so maybe time to spend some time again with Skylines. :)
The game should be fun but I’m having some problems keeping the interest in it. I think better performance will help a bit.
Yeah, if I can get 40FPS minimum (ideally 60+) on a larger city at full speed with my hardware (CPU: 5600X, GPU: 6650XT, 1440p), I’ll probably buy it.
But there are plenty of other great games that work way better, so I’m in no rush. If I have to wait for a DLC release or two, that’s fine, I just want a stable experience.
Cool new maps, will have to check that out tonight.
