As a Portuguese person I feel so bad for Greece. Besides all the similarities, both our countries depend a lot on tourism. Having those huge fires had a huge impact for sure and now they’re paying holidays for the tourists. Which is great btw.
I hope Greece recovers from this fast (same with Italy). 🇵🇹♥🇬🇷
Did Greece ever recover from being in deep financial trouble due in large part to corruption? Did the handout from EU help any?
Do you mean are they still in massive debt? Yes.
Well, Portugal is on that same boat as well :) Maybe not quite as bad but close enough.
We (Portuguese) did kindof get better(?), but still far from perfect… I still feel like there’s an abnormal amount of corruption and evasion compared to other countries.
As for Greece I honestly can’t comment on it, only thing I know is I was there in 2018 and I loved it :)
