I am using Memmy on iOS. It rocks! Does everything I need without any adds. Very happy with it.
Check out the extension ‘cookie autodelete’. Enables you to set safe sites and will automatically delete all the other cookies when you navigate away from a page of close the browser. It’s real simple to configure and works a treat. It’s also available for chromium browsers. (I use it in Edge for work purposes)
I thought it was supposed to be the best privacy browser but after reading these comments my view has changed completely and have switched all devices to Firefox.
Smartdns is your friend for iPlayer and other UK geo fenced public tv services. Been using it for years and years…
Thank you!
These guys piss me off so much.
My mum was a cleaner at a hospital. She then worked her way up to the cleaning manager. My childhood is filled with memories of her colleagues who were her friends. She didn’t need to work as my dad had a good job; she did it to support me and my brother through studies and university.
She taught me to respect people. Their profession is irrelevant; everyone deserves respect and acknowledgment. It was single handedly the best lesson that a parent can give and one that I have adhered to all my life.
I am on first name terms with all the service personnel where I live and work. I always give thanks to them and leave gifts at Christmas/birthdays, etc to show my appreciation. When a waiter fills my glass or takes my plates a simple Thank-you is the least we can say.
Thanks to my mum working I came through university with little debts and have climbed the heights of the corporate ladder. You would not believe the number of times my peers have pulled me up for what I consider common curtesy with comments like “you don’t need to thank them; it’s their job”. You know what… fuck those guys; if am at a business lunch with a potential supplier and they treat the staff like shit the deal is off the table. Have even blocked hires if I hear they are disrespectful to the secretaries or security staff.
We have not walked in other peoples shoes and have no idea what they have gone through. Until they disrespect you or you beliefs everyone deserves your respect.
End of rant… :-)
Deleted all my comment and post history from there when I was directed to Lemmy. Zero regrets. Have not looked back. Find the engagement here far better; proper discussions without the trolls. Loving it… Also tried Mastodon and enjoying that too even though I never used twitter.
Used to spend hours each day on Reddit and was active contributor on the subreddits I subscribed to. Hoping we get some of the less popular and specialised communities here so we all got to make an effort to support the smaller ones by posting and commenting.
This applies to other electronic devices other than just phones right? Are things like tablets, earbuds, smart watches, etc also covered?
What have google brought new to the market before killing it before it gains momentum? My prediction is for them to fall first out of the big tech companies.
In A.I they have lost the race already and the competitors are going to eat their web search in the not to distance future. The biggest thing they have right now imo is android and that only on mobile phones as the tablet is dominated by Apple.
They have lost trust with the tech savvy as we all know their products have such a short shelf life and we have been burnt before. They have very few chances left.
It’s a sad fact but the vast majority of my fellow country people are bloody idiots and as long as there’s something good on the gogglebox or the local Wetherspoons is still open then there’s bugger all to complain about.l and they will tow the line.
Brexit / tories / civil liberties eroded such as the right to protest all went ahead without a hint of rebellion. Now it’s their privacy and more civil liberties that are being taken and hardly anyone is taking any notice. It really is a sad state of affairs.
Many thanks for sharing Kathie. Been looking for a music player that was actively supported and open source. (Am old school and used Winamp in the past for the mp3 collection)
Good girl… :o)

Best of both worlds!

Yeah I had to ask also…
That’s great. Many thanks for coming back on this.
lol, none taken…
I think more people do this type of management than you would imagine. There are plenty of mail apps that have options to allow you to bcc yourself for each mail sent.
There’s a lot of cases I can think of where you would want to apply a rule or process for a sent mail; this has always been possible in previous versions of Outlook but there are no options to do this in this preview version.
I think the 7th guest has a puzzle now that is almost impossible to beat due to the way it calculates the answer and todays processor speeds. (The microscope puzzle). You can read more here (Obs. Spoiler):

Can recommend clandestiny if you like the kind of puzzles in 7th guest. It’s a fantastic game.
The nail in the coffin for me was the rules engine. You can no longer apply rules to messages you sent. I have a rule that moves my sent messages into the inbox as to be able to file all mails into categories such as “requires attention”, “waiting on someone else”, “expenses”, etc.
Couldn’t find an option to bcc myself on each mails either which would have achieved the same.
This is the way I have worked for years and is my natural workflow so is critical for me.
Amen! Recently had a major project with Microsoft and an external partner and thought teams would be an ideal solution to share data, calendars, plans, etc. Nope! The switching of accounts made it totally unworkable; even with the support of the senior microsoft engineers a workable solution wasn’t found.
