Then the game underperformed because the majority of gamers don’t want a live-service game, particularly from a studio that is known for immersive sims, and those that do are already playing other live service games which by their nature don’t coexist well with multiple games at the same time. So Microsoft shuttered the studio. They were doing goddamn fine until management made them do something a) out of their wheelhouse, b) that they had no passion for, and c) that customers didn’t want.
