Some would say that acting is the grandest lie.

Even enterprise stuff has largely moved away from Microsoft. They are still dominant in some areas like the business desktop space/office 365/active directory, but ‘enterprise’ apps running on Windows Server (and associated stuff like IIS) with tight Microsoft integrations are a thing of the past.

I hear this a lot, but I think the context of what other actions are available and their relative impact is important in this kind of discussion.

Of course, this is all with the knowledge that trying to put the onus of fixing climate change on the individual is both doomed to fail and a great burden for many. Climate change can only be properly addressed by top-down action, which we should all advocate for.

What in your opinion is behavior or views that is worthy of defederation? There appears to be many different standards for that from what I’ve seen.

Sounds like fair use to me.

That’s one of the most important things about this in my opinion. Enough people moved over to Lemmy/kbin from this incident to kind of pave the way and help improve the platforms so that the next time reddit screws something up and a huge influx of people get a new first impression of the fediverse it will be a more positive experience for them.

My understanding is that they are only getting paid the minimum wage while they are actively servicing an order. If they are online but waiting for something to come in they don’t get anything.

I love having alternative desktop-first interfaces! Really appreciate you putting the time in to make this.

A couple hopefully constructive thoughts:
I find the text a little bit hard to read. It’s like the text is lightly purple on top of being on a purple background. Maybe one gets used to this over time.
Why the decision to not show profile pictures and community icons without hovering over them? It makes it much easier for me to identify what community content is coming from at a glance when those are present.
