This could be a federation issue with Lemmy.ml and Kbin.social. On Lemmy.world I can see four posts:
I think the reason an admin is unlikely to make that the default is that a new user would see a completely black feed, which isn’t very welcoming.
Luckily you can change the default yourself in the settings.
