Genuine question as a Linux user… Why would I want their client unless they are going to build proton/similar into it?

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•NVIDIA Reportedly Ends GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Production, RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB NextEnglish
4·2 days agoThink it might be time to find more games that run well without a graphics card. I have a few but a larger selection would be nice.
More 2D gaming perhaps?

4·2 days agoOk, probably wasn’t going to play it anyway
Yeah I saw that and it felt the arrow was the wrong way around too.
I am curious what you mean by everything is a file… What else would it be?
Watching TV with your wife while working from home seems … ok fair point.
You could just not check your phone immediately, it will still be there later.
And how would I pipe the output from your GUI tool into another GUI tool?

11·3 days agoI would rather lower the specs of my network than rent anything from them. If in 2035 I can only afford a raspberry pi 7, so be it.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Any good no‑download browser games lately? I found a neat incremental oneEnglish
3·3 days agoI am wondering if it is even their game actually. Starting to suspect they are ripping off someone elses work and putting it on their own website. The webpage linked above the only contact info I can find is support@stephanie8.freeqiye.com, while the actual game can be found on https://greenwizardgames.itch.io/dwarf-eats-mountain and is by GreenWizardGames. Other games on OPs site can also be found on itch.io from different developers.
It looks like they are stealing the work of indie developers and putting it on their own site and then trying to get people to go there.
The game seems kinda cool, support the real developers rather than this charlatan.

8·3 days agoYeah, I said similar on the other one. I don’t get why they are pretending to be someone that found the game. Surely “hey here is a thing I made” would be just as appreciated? The dishonesty over it is really odd.

6·4 days agoShame, tbh “Hey guys here is a game I made!” would have come across better to me.
Agree to that, bought games like Factorio and Vintage Story straight from the developer instead of through steam. It does help when the game natively supports Linux, if it doesn’t then yeah Steam it is.

12·4 days agoYes. If the source is so important to them then they should have to continue supporting it.

Or allow you to disable anticheat entirely, if I am running the server why shouldn’t I get to choose?
