+1 that’s what I do at home with my desktop and what is IMHO the best solution.
Yet on vacation I use an old android box with Android Tv (SlimTv) and I have to say it’s nice to have a dedicated interface allowing use of a remote.
IMHO I am not an expert but Mullvad seems the best (from what I read from others) and I would stick with it. I am using it and happy with it. I also appreciate that their monthly price do not change depending on how many months you subscribe and that there is no bullshit discount for the first x months.
You could also look at Proton VPN if you need port forwarding.
About SurfShark don’t have much opinion !
I don’t understand the down votes
=> I always read up and down votes as a tool to flag valuable posts. It feels like down vote on this one is about agreement with the news?
I will probably try it but I am not expecting much. I wasn’t a fan of the old one. Not to offense anyone but I felt like it was dumb.
Still it looks like a lot of people are hyped about it so maybe I will be surprised !
Perfect thanks. I looked at your profil and your old comments to determine if you were Kevin. Maybe it would have been obvious for a lot of people but I really thought : “hey is it really nova’s dev on lemmy? That would be so cool for Lemmy !”
Not to be annoying but you should edit to make it clear you are not Kevin Barry and you are just quoting.
On my work computer I don’t have admin rights but still I could install Firefox with no problems. It installed itself for local user only.
About that you can check this new extension : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chrome-mask/
Yet I feel it’s better to avoid using it and report web compatibility problems. Always masking user agent could led to believe only supporting chrome is sufficient.
What I do is using synching to sync my files on my PC when I am at home. You could also manually back it up on a cloud drive.
Anyway I think it’s best practice to store somewhere recovery codes.
Aegis is often recommended as an open source solution : https://github.com/beemdevelopment/Aegis
Hate those posts only containing link… Feeling like I am looking at a news aggregator with click bait…
For those feeling like me here a simple cut and paste :
Sam is a very small Text-To-Speech (TTS) program written in Javascript, that runs on most popular platforms. It is an adaption to Javascript of the speech software SAM (Software Automatic Mouth) for the Commodore C64 published in the year 1982 by Don’t Ask Software (now SoftVoice, Inc.). It includes a Text-To-Phoneme converter called reciter and a Phoneme-To-Speech routine for the final output.
FreeCommander is nice, it’s the one I use.
Would be nice if Lemmy was alerting poster that he shared a link already presents in other posts.
This is not the final episode. I think there are 2 more.
I don’t think it is. You need to go on their GitHub to see that there is some development and to get last releases from march : https://github.com/greenshot/greenshot/releases
Yet I prefer ShareX
I believe most people would have seen that it has been post twice and reacted only with the first one they saw or the one with most reactions. Beside I guess the post with most comments could have been more promoted when using active / hot sort on home.
True, I feel boost is really lacking in displaying correctly markdown. Spoilers not being hidden are really annoying.
For reference this post highlights Lemmy apps on how accurately they display markdown. And this comment use all markdown to test how your current app is rendering them.
