I never blame the people asking for tips, I instead blame those giving them.
I’ll list my Bitcoin address for anyone who would like to tip me! As I wrote out this whole comment for free, a tip seems quite reasonable here. If you disagree and choose not to tip me, that’s ok since tips are optional…but please don’t start rambling about how others should be tipping when you yourself did not tip me when provided the opportunity.
Yep. And I’d argue it’s an almost ethical responsibility for those aware of all this to preserve a media archive via piracy. Sort of like those monks that would repeatedly copy old scrolls before they would degrade or whatever.
And it was always clearly stated as such. It’s absurd that anyone was upset by this. I have yet to find a single user on here who did not properly understand what it was for, or at least none willing admit to being that dumb.

Most European nations still have some form of provinces/states. Even itty bitty Switzerland is made up of a bunch of different Cantons.
What makes you think it was flagged for a large tip specifically, rather than just an unusually high transaction?
It still confused me how they would know it was a $20 steak and $80 tip versus 5x $20 steaks and no tip. It would appear the same, a $100 transaction at Bob’s Steakhouse.
Wouldn’t they just see the total?

Dealerships are literally the worst place to take a vehicle for a repair. They are in the car selling business, not the car fixing business.
I struggle to see Japan as a bastion of freedom lol. Fun place to visit for sure, but between the archaic drug laws and suicide forests I’m not sure they are a society others should be modeling themselves after.

I was in a sauna at +95 Celsius for several minutes the other day. And within the same week I felt -35 Celsius cold on my bare skin.
Both could kill me provided a bit more exposure, but they don’t instantly. Meanwhile, +4 Celsius can also cause death by hypothermia pretty easily in the right circumstances.
So, while I like the idea, I think implementation will be hard as there is no clear death number on either end of the spectrum. Not to mention humidity, clothing, exertion, level of hydration, etc…
The freezing point of water seems a hell of a lot more relevant to what humans consider ‘cold’…which is why it’s the zero. The boiling point of water isn’t the zero in Celsius after all.
Also ‘cold’ as a concept is often represented with symbols related to frozen water such as snow flakes and icicles.

I feel the logical conclusion is to just destroy all human created content entirely to avoid being exploited by corporations. But that may not be a reasonable solution.
It would be like an artist refusing to record or perform their music for fear of someone else making money from it or copying the style.
