Here is the actual TLDR as to why chrome is bad for non techy people,

1. Chrome does not have the ability to block any malicious ads pretending to be genuine.
2. Chrome does not respect the system wide dark mode when it comes to websites.
3. Chrome automatically logs you in. Not good for privacy.
4. Article recommends Firefox (with ublock and dark-reader) or Vivaldi.

Don’t use Firefox, the original one anymore if you’re really into privacy. I haven’t tried Waterfox, but I can recommend Ironfox. It’s on Acrescent and Fdroid.

Simpler is better in many cases. I have been using this messaging app for about a year now and I have been totally fine with it. It does what it says and it never connects to the internet unlike some Google ones.

Does it work with gestures fluently? I feel most launchers that I test feels really janky with system navigation gestures.

1. Should have basic understanding of what they intent to do on Linux.
2. They should know about the concept of input devices.
3. Have an understanding of the internet if they are planing to use it. Like what websites are or how to search for things.
4. And I think a basics of generic buttons or symbols (like the magnifying glass for search button) would be nice.

Some dev must have put some EPic SensiTive filE IN it.

Fuck! I brought a pixel just for GrapheneOS 2 months ago. Hoping they would continue the support.

I 100% recommend bubblejail. A sandboxing utility based on bubnlewrap. The same that Flatpaks use I believe. It has a CLI and a GUI. And its super portable.

Its nice to have choices.
