I used to have to explain it to them too, but could usually get them to understand by referencing the CVE and the breakdown from the MS security updates guide.
Part of my job used to involve explaining patch supersedence to leadership so that they had a clear idea of why a totally different patch needs to be loaded to address a vulnerability reporting a different patch number in the scanner.
It’s fine, my product owner doesn’t know what a sandwich is supposed to look like, so it passed, I can spend another few hours on the user story next sprint to correct this.
My Morrowind save has long since devolved into designing my own adventures, battles, and objectives. It doesn’t matter where I find myself, because I have decades of headcanon to inform my next actions.
In a lot of cases, while I am frustrated by them, I don’t entirely fault them.
Theory is dense and written in an antiquated way since the base of it is over 200 years old. Folks often try to find a summary, which can lead to a whole slew of rightwing disinfo. On top of that, anarchism has been actively maligned in the US since the dismantling of unions in the 1920s and communism has been since the cold war, so people often have to overcome their initial misconceptions before they can even begin to learn.
