You guys are complaining about a subscription to apple and amazon ? go look how much a subscription to an Autodesk product costs ?

What these big giants were trying to do is scoop up as much talent as possible so they don’t end up at a competitor, even if that meant some employees would be getting very light workloads. that’s one of the many reasons too Google keeps starting new projects and killing them a few years later.

As long as they keep getting money out of it. and with record numbers year over year. they have no incentive to change course. Google has a monopoly over search engine that affords them the unique position of not giving a dime about user satisfaction. the users are trapped anyway!

I don’t believe Apple made this product to sell. it might be just marketing ploy to keep people talking about Apple and how they are always ahead of the curve. they have a brand reputation to maintain.

Does it affect Invidious front-end as well?? I have been noticing that for a while now, but I thought maybe it is because the page doesn’t use native yt js code to track video download. the same videos would load battery smooth when accessed through YT.

Unlike proton mail , microsoft offers basic IMAP POP functionality of its desktop app for free, Maybe proton should offer the same “essential” email functionality for free before criticizing Microsoft. there are many ways to monetize a service without rendering the free version legless.

I don’t blame the users here, remember from 2008 to 2012 where chrome ads where plastered on every website. Google knew what it was doing spreading its Trojan horse. I wouldn’t have known about the existence of chromium if I wasn’t lurking of privacy forums, blame google this time.

why bother making legal frameworks when you can’t enforce them, there are hundreds of thousands of website including very prominent ones that hide the “reject all cookies” button after a second screen prompt. or flat out force you to opt-out of every second cookie category , just so you give up. they haven’t been fined. and they know EU authorities aren’t bothered either, so they keep infringing on the GDPR.
