They must have also shot all the teachers on sight damn
Not a big deal, anyone visiting Amsterdam feels ashamed of their fellow countrymen. It’s not you, it’s them.

I like the idea of a split keyboard, but looking up against the getting used to it. Did it take you long and do you still type as fast on regular keyboards or did you ‘unlearn’ that?
Probably even with dry statistics you can’t really compare the two that much. I also wonder how much it is because people don’t want to or feel the need to travel outside of the EU/USA, versus them not being able financially. Beside culture and climate the financial means of people within the US and EU differs a lot.
Too bad nobody saw this coming, they could have made a great movie about this 10 years ago.
I think since the introduction of euro and Schengen the percentage of eu-citizens who never been outside their country has dropped close to zero. Also think the percentage of eu-citizens who has never left eu is smaller than us-citizens leaving the us is. States are big yes, but the difference between states is smaller which means it makes less sense to travel ‘abroad’.
For the people on the streets it doesn’t change anything, but it’s weird how little blame Erdogan is getting here.
No matter how much I dislike Musk, I don’t think he’s giving that much choice. Erdogan is a dictator who has the power to block X altogether. A real free speech advocate would not succcumb to the pressure of a repressive government, but the article does imply Musk is not the initiator of these bans: “Musk himself said that “the choice is have Twitter throttled in its entirety or limit access to some tweets.” He said X would publicly post the Turkish government’s requests.”
Not saying we shouldn’t put Tesla’s on fire tho.
