They’ve also talked about massively leveraging cloud computing and streaming, it’s likely a lot of actual scenery isn’t part of the offline file size unless you cache the areas for offline play (if that’s even an option)

These are the types of people who are in charge of businesses, they only care about money, they are not particularly smart, they have massive gaps in knowledge and experience but believe that they are profoundly brilliant and insightful because they’ve gotten lucky and either are good at a few things or just had an insane amount of help from generational wealth. They have never had anyone, or very few people genuinely able to tell them no and if people don’t take what they say seriously they get fired and replaced with people who will.

I don’t love the difficulty of extremely fast individual identification but there is something to be said for the ease of extremely fast collective identification, it makes it very easy to see which group of apps each app belongs to, which is also valuable.

Please don’t bring NASA into this, the space program benefitted the lives of basically everyone on earth in incredible incalculable and calculable ways, from contributing to the peaceful collapse of the Soviet Union to countless technologies developed for it and as a result of it, to the birth of the environmental movement and a massive influx in people going into STEM. The US space program has probably done more for your health than socialized medicine would.

All of which is not to say that America is doing great and it shouldn’t have socialized healthcare, but simply to say, keep our Apollo’s name out of your mouth.

For real? Kinda yes, multiplayer in a release is a very bad sign that they will either focus on the “more profitable” multiplayer to the detriment of the single player or they will actually hobble the single player deliberately to encourage the multiplayer.

File size is a major limiting factor in high speed video and to a lesser extent convenient ultra HD digital film. At 3840x2160 (basic 4k) uncompressed 10-bit video 1 frame is about 250 MB. An hour of footage at 30 fps then is about half a terabyte. At “only” 1000 fps you would burn through an 8 TB SD card in… 32 seconds.

For real though, cars feel big and we aren’t equipped to understand speeds above like 25 mph. It’s easy to think that in a standard sized car there is only like a foot or two on either side of your car and the other lanes and that each of those dashed lines on the pavement are just a couple feet long. In reality almost all cars and standard duty trucks and vans are less than 7 feet wide, most are closer to 6 and the lane itself is 12 feet wide. Each of those dashed lines is 10 feet long and twenty feet separates each line.

Pretty sure most homemade consumer computers are installing Windows. 70/30 tops.
