I’m fair new to the open source world, just afew years. I’m not a dev so I do not contribute my time in that way. One thing that struck me at the start (and I still think about) is how demanding people are of devs with zero gratitude for the work they do and share. I still find it utterly bizarre and entitled. It’s disappointing

Yeah I hear you. I’ve installed it but I have no idea what to do from here. Cant access any kind of dash. I’ve just learnt it doesn’t have a native dash but you need a third party app for that?

Just abit of encouragement
Self hosting is easier than you think. I didn’t know anything about Linux prior to setting up a server. I’m faaaaaar from an expert but even a noobie like me was able to set up a truenas system by watching tutorials and reading. It’s definitely alot of problem solving in the beginning but it gets easier.
In terms of storage. Mega is great value for money and all E2E

Eventually, electric cars will become the norm. For an open source OS it just needs enough commercial interest. That’s largely what lets down alot of open source projects by the looks of it.
I saw there is a new open source printer out there now. I’m excited about that and interested to see how it goes.
Most of the public don’t see the value in open source or the barriers to entry are not worth it for them.
I’m not a dev so I’m certainly not casting shade on all the wonderful projects out there, more just an observation that you usually need to learn abit about computers to be able to access these projects. I’ve enjoyed the learning experiences
I don’t think it’s a problem to be honest. The issue is the untreated anxiety. Are you able to get some support for that?
