Capitalism or not, books exist… Read one
I’ve never once uttered the second panel but say the third one way too fucking much

Can always tell a screenshot is from youtube…

I’m pretty convinced this is the play. Drive up DIY PC parts then promote thin cloud clients as a way to have a PC without paying the crazy prices that they set. It’s a lot easier to tell you “it’s safer for the children” and pillage every file, action, and keystroke for AI training and data brokerage. Your owned PC is a black box for them and it’s their wet dream to own it for you… As a subscription of course.
Except the whole thing hinges on the panel “i can build a better pc for less money” and nobody knows if this is true yet
If the way you understood it was upsetting to you, be happy in your ignorance
Backups are the most overlooked part of getting into self hosting. You’re basically a sysadmin now, you have to act like one. Get remote storage (cloud, friend / family house, hdd in a safety deposit box, etc…) and get your 3-2-1 on

There’s just more fucking people in general so the odds of encountering the worst of them goes up

Love this, i’m using the GladOS voice
Fsck? Are you self-censoring on Lemmy? Jesus fucking christ
I wish i could upvote this more, PREACH!

Maybe I’m just dense but this feels a lot like the right wing’s contradiction of the immigrant that is lazy but also taking all the jobs.
If the goal of the Russian bot is to polarize discussion, how is “both sides are the same” also the goal?

Windows will probably add AI too
Ummm, I have some old news for you…

Why didn’t i think of voting for the non-existent awesome choice in the last election? Voting for non-existent awesome choice would’ve solved all of our problems!

Easy, reliable backups are key. I’ve used komodo with automatic updates for over a year and watchtower before that for a couple more. I’ve only had one issue when Nginx Proxy Manager had a release that deleted all of its own data. Didn’t take long to realize that the services were still up and what the problem was. Restored the missing data from Proxmox backups, pinned the Nginx version for a while, then turned auto update on again. I’ll stick to this until checking updates is less work than fixing the occasional problem
For the record, i literally said “if the math works out” 😁

I kinda compare it to semi truck weigh stations. I found out some time ago that if the math works out that a truck got from one weigh station to another too fast the driver can get a speeding ticket since its assumed they broke the law getting there. Apply that to money. If a person accumulates too much money, it should just be assumed that person broke laws getting it and they should be severly fined (like, most of it).

What year is it? Hasn’t this been general geek knowledge for over a decade?
Waaaaaahhhhh! Mod deleted my post and I’m maaaaaad! Waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!
