  • that’s a very grim way of looking at goodness. Of course doing things you believe are making a positive change makes you feel good, of course helping your community makes you feel good, and it does feel nice to be recognised and known as a good person.

It’s a strange ambient idea in our society, that to be truly good you must suffer, and never find joy in the good things you do. Not to turn conspiratorial, but to me it sounds like a cope from actually selfish people who look at people who do nice things and think to themselves “they’re only doing it to be popular and feel good about themselves, why else would anyone do anything”

  • once you stop seeing ESO as an Elder Scrolls game, and instead look at it as an MMO set in the world of the Elder Scrolls - it gets really fun

even for lore fanatics who don’t see ESO as canon it can still be fun to run around areas we haven’t seen since Arena! Sure, it probably won’t look like the real thing once we get TES: Elsweyr or TES: Black Marsh, but it’s the best we’ve got right now, and with the current lighting fast development of TES series a lot of us won’t live to play those games

PhD grads? My guys, I’m in the same situation with a flipping Bachelor of Arts in my pocket.

I recently got rejected from a shop that sells cheap and poor quality items for being “underqualified” (the listing required 0 experience and basic education so I’ll go ahead and assume this is the only rejection email template they use and it’s actually the opposite)

i know you’re joking but fuck, sometimes it do be like that.

Obviously nobody should infantalise people suffering from depression by telling them to “just be happy”, “go outside” etc. but if you’re malnourished, have vitamin deficiencies, don’t go out to hang out with the human tribe, and sit in your home the entire day without moving - you’re going to feel like shite. Fixing those problems won’t cure clinical depression, but the other way round is true too - getting meds for depression won’t cure you of feeling like shit if you don’t use the chance they give you to try to improve your life yourself.
