Same. I’m looking around at the KBin instance and it’s in bad shape, some of the communities are in. The admin is MIA due to IRL issues with health so he can’t be around to help. Moderators are abandoning already weakened communities that are now stuffed with bots and spam content.
The only real lively community is over in Lemmy’s instances. But, the Fediverse still yet has a long ways to go, it needs more maturity as an alternative and needs more time to gather membership that’ll hopefully be comparable to reddit’s but not in quantity but quality.

So it’s likely that it isn’t suits attacking Internet Archive for this reason, it’s presumably a mixed batch of copyright trolls and spiteful shitty human beings with too much time on their hands.

Nobody cares about Skype anymore as much. VK Messenger, which is ICQ’s successor, looks like trash. Telegram used to be very great but did take some morally questionable steps, yet still gives the user an awful lot of power. Zoom is garbage. Microsoft Teams is garbage. Facebook Messenger is garbage.
So if I had to pick, Discord and Telegram is the best we’ve got now.
