About the craziness - yes absolutely. In most other places, you use a thing until nobody would use it, or sell it online. And here, people are just: “nah…”
Well, better for us. I also have a shitton of good stuff, including half of my clothes (I’m lucky to have size M, so a lot of stuff fits). Second hand stores look weird now: “Whoa, you need to pay for that?”

I do that all the time. A thing is a thing, and it can be your thing now. I only try to ask myself two things:

1. Do I really need that?
2. Is it in a good condition? I have a lot of used stuff at home, so if I took something half-broken, it would look like a dumpster already.

Sidenote: I live in Denmark, where people overconsume, and then get rid of stuff which is still in good condition.

Okay, okay, oil doesn’t help me at all, what am I doing!

Oh, thank you for providing me with this rare knowledge. But what happens while you boil pasta, is pasta turning around and soaking the oil in. I wouldn’t be doing that if it wouldn’t help with pasta stickiness.
And as other people comment here, oil gets into pasta so you can have a problem with sauce not soaking in, but when I’m making something like bolognese, I sometimes pour pasta into the frying pan with the sauce, so it’s getting there for sure.

You can add some oil so pasta won’t also stick when you have cold leftovers. I add both oil and salt in the very beginning, because there’s no reason to not do that, and I have a feeling of the right amount compared to the amount of water.
And I stir once, about a minute after putting the pasta in, because something tends to stick to the bottom in the very beginning. Afterwards, it’s just not necessary.

So you don’t know what your meme is about, It’s about the hardware stuff. The software is:

1. Android, so you can use whatever interface app you like. All my phones look not like iPhone, but like my phone, because I use my saved preset of button layout, icon style, gestures, etc.
2. The ones that come from Xiaomi and most other popular brands are not copying iOS.And some devices are “Android One”, a clean android system
   Nobody is trying to steal your precious interfaces, Android is organized differently, so it makes no sense to have half android-style and half iOS-style

Apart from the encryption, how exactly does it suck?

As a classic example, I needed a power cable just a month after I threw them all out, because “everything comes with it anyway!”

I had that with my bt speaker. What helped is to get both devices to 100% when the music is playing. That guaranteed that both devices were on their actual maximum

There are possibilities of shitty company’s behaviour though: in case of said “envelope” salary, you still get some part of it officially (like minimum wage), so if the place is shitty enough, they can pay you only the official part, so you have a “not-so-paid” vacation. Or they come up with some reasons to not sign your vacation: “why July? Look at the schedule and better take February! We’re family and family needs you now!”
It’s not everywhere like that - usually low-skill and/or blue-collar stuff. But I encountered that in IT when I was starting out (and didn’t have much choise with tetail jobs in my cv)

I’m sorry, I felt like bragging, but I really don’t know what to do with all that time, and one of the reasons is that I tend to spend money on vacations, and I don’t like to spend money, I like to save.
But really, it’s not Denmark or Sweden that good, it’s US laws are bad. Ok, in Denmark I have 5 weeks by law and one more from my company (which is a usual perk). But I moved there from Russia, where the working culture sucks (overtime, envelope salary, etc), and overal situation with any human rights is not that funny, but people still have 28 calendar day paid vacation.

pretty much the same in Denmark. I still don’t know how to spend all of the vacation days. We just used up Mandatory 3 summer weeks, and I’m kinda tired of resting this year, but I still have 3 weeks left

IPS matrix screens were kinda ok even in 2007, when I was selling them, but they had a super shitty reaction time, so everything had quite visible trails. That was the time when a good CRT was still a professional choice. But now, and for the last 10 years or so, IPS became much better, and kept their great color palette, so there are zero reasons to look elsewhere, a standard midrange monitor does the job. And if you want even less trouble, just buy a designer a used imac - that’s an almost complete workplace, and apples retina screens are also IPS. This is what several development (mobile, web) companies I worked in did.
Well, you can go fancy and buy new ones, but the used ones are in abundance - rich mac fanboys switch to every new model that comes out
