The funny sloth scene is more than a little true. I went to the Department of Transport yesterday literally to pick up a spare number plate (It’s the same number plate as the car, just goes on the bike rack so the bikes don’t obfuscate the rear plate) that is there waiting for me. A 5-minute errand. I got there an hour before closing.
‘Nope, we’re too busy today. Come back another day’.
‘but the number plate is here. I’m just picking it up. I don’t need anything from you’.
‘There are too many people waiting. Some of them have been here three hours already.’
‘But, you’re only open 9-4:30 weekdays. It is super rare that I get a chance to drop in while you’re open.’
‘Take a day off work to visit us. Get here by lunchtime.’
Not much better in Vic, and I’m guessing all the states. Tassie and the ACT may be exceptions I guess since like nobody lives there, although on account of nobody living there, maybe nobody works there just making the problem worse.
My advice? Start acting like you live in Hawaii. Or maybe Spain at siesta time. Everything mañana. License plates? Mañana. Doing your work? Mañana. Losing 30% of your blood every 10 minutes? Mañana, but maybe a little less mañana than the rest of them
At least after this weekend, you guys are only going to be two hours ahead. People in here are usually celebrating Friday drinks before I even have lunchtime.
Easter is overrated. I’d rather just have a 3 day weekend like most of the rest of the world where Good Friday is a PH, and add the extra day somewhere in July or something
Here’s a a hot take. Traditionalists will tell you that the only way you should eat hot cross buns is cut, toasted then buttered. I am here to tell you that there are other ways that include an airfryer, butter, lemon butter and biscoff spread. Boom.
What’s the 🔥HOT TAKE?🔥

Start embracing that Perth time!
End of week drinks should not be announced/celebrated until 5pm on the last normal working day of the week.

I knocked off at half 3 yesterday so nah nah 😝

I get a 5 day weekend out of it. Great except for the year I forgot that and went in on Tuesday.
