Bloody hell, another car accident happened right in front of me. Just around the corner from the last one. This one seems a lot more minor though, judging mainly on the fact I barely heard the thud and the beeping lasted about 2 seconds. Everybody looks fine

At least after this weekend, you guys are only going to be two hours ahead. People in here are usually celebrating Friday drinks before I even have lunchtime.

Here’s a a hot take. Traditionalists will tell you that the only way you should eat hot cross buns is cut, toasted then buttered. I am here to tell you that there are other ways that include an airfryer, butter, lemon butter and biscoff spread. Boom.

The funny sloth scene is more than a little true. I went to the Department of Transport yesterday literally to pick up a spare number plate (It’s the same number plate as the car, just goes on the bike rack so the bikes don’t obfuscate the rear plate) that is there waiting for me. A 5-minute errand. I got there an hour before closing.

‘Nope, we’re too busy today. Come back another day’.
‘but the number plate is here. I’m just picking it up. I don’t need anything from you’.
‘There are too many people waiting. Some of them have been here three hours already.’
‘But, you’re only open 9-4:30 weekdays. It is super rare that I get a chance to drop in while you’re open.’
‘Take a day off work to visit us. Get here by lunchtime.’

Not much better in Vic, and I’m guessing all the states. Tassie and the ACT may be exceptions I guess since like nobody lives there, although on account of nobody living there, maybe nobody works there just making the problem worse.

My advice? Start acting like you live in Hawaii. Or maybe Spain at siesta time. Everything mañana. License plates? Mañana. Doing your work? Mañana. Losing 30% of your blood every 10 minutes? Mañana, but maybe a little less mañana than the rest of them

        Start embracing that Perth time!

Easter is overrated. I’d rather just have a 3 day weekend like most of the rest of the world where Good Friday is a PH, and add the extra day somewhere in July or something

I get a 5 day weekend out of it. Great except for the year I forgot that and went in on Tuesday.

Saw Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire this evening. I like that they’re not taking it too seriously these days with this franchise. It’s simple storied, full of cheesy exposition and it’s big dumb fun. There is a place in the world for kaiju movies which delve into human nature and deeper meanings but this franchise ain’t it… and that’s just fine by me.

Young Eagle and I are off to see it tomorrow morning. I’m glad to know I will at least be entertained.

Not cold enough for uggs at mine despite the windows open and no carpeting anywhere, but enjoying track pants and fuzzy blanket on the couch after all these weeks in shorts.

Wow. Feel like I packed three weeks into those four work days. Stoped off for a meal on the way home. Laying low this weekend so can shout myself a meal and a drink. 🥂🥂

Work goals kicked today. Got some kudos from higher ups that I never deal with.

Feel good, but also now they’ve put a face to my name and I cannot remain hidden behind and email signature.

Also hate setting the bar high

Depression lapse sucks. Today I am going to be reading and rereading the chapter on tolerance of ambiguity and other cognitive ways of thinking.

This one is a hard nut to crack, my thinking is too fast, I can’t see where the wrong thinking starts. I need to peel back the layers until I can get to the problem.

I 🖤 my locals. Swapped many books, borrowed a ladder, lent a pruning saw. Acquired mulberries, gifted plums.

Can’t afford to buy here. Arse.

I’m going to the CBD later to grab some shoes and some t-shirts.

I haven’t left my outer suburb in a couple of weeks. It’s always a shock to the system being around so many people all at once.

I do so miss it though. Once I’m re-established I’m moving closer to the city. Maybe st.kilda again.

Same, don’t go to the city often and it’s always so busy. I used to work in the city about 15years ago and don’t remember it being as busy, maybe it’s because there’s lots more residential around CBD and inner suburbs. My ideal living location would be close to city but also quiet area with some garden and tress around, which of course is contrary to inner city density and I’m not rich enough for that kind of extravagance.

There’s some lovely leafy pockets in East Melbourne and Carlton. Both areas are stupid expensive, however.

You mean you did the whole white down then sat on the sofa in? Never done that ever. Swear on my corset strings.

Oh… This is not the first time. Haha. I did face, put casual duds on and went to the supermarket. Was going to treat myself with a late bougie supper out afterwards, but then got home and was like meh…

(Also have corseted up before to go but then couldn’t be arsed and had fun drinking next door at my neighbour’s.)

Dunno… I also take a revoltingly long time to get ready when doing the whole shebang, so that doesn’t help.

Not all bad though, catching up on the Shibaru/Kinbaku doco over wine and cheese seems a good trade off. :)
