Someone I know is slightly mentally challenged, always had trouble at school, but is super precise and methodical. They are now a very valued employee at a forensics lab, doing something that most people are not capable of.

A super precise and methodical dumbass makes a very good data/sample collector IMO. I’m glad it worked out well for your acquaintance.

Also I think nearly anybody can provide value / is valuable to society. If all of us were super geniuses society would collapse.

One of my friends is mechanical engineering and he told me he did shit in high school. He pretty much aces every math and physics exam with very minimal studying.

The two things are probably related. I’m the same way. You learn to compensate for a bad memory, for bad visualization techniques, for bad math skills, by adhering to certain routines and rules of thumb. Most people can easily remember, say, times tables. If you’re a dumbass, though, you’ll probably be forced to use some sort of mneumonic device or rule of thumb if you want to actually memorize them. Alternatively, you might just get really fast at going through every step to get the correct answer, kinda depends.

I’m a dumbass. Don’t take the test at truetest.pro. It takes a while. At the end, you’re feeling pretty clever for figuring out most of the puzzles. Then it won’t give you the results unless you pay. I am we tod did.

I was too bored and decided to take the puzzle, after 3 questions, I realize they probably want me to pay at the end.

And they did ask me to pay to get my result after like 100 questions. LOL, I am stupid, but not stupid enough to pay for an random IQ test on the internet.

To be fair 85 is slightly very much below average. So OP could work in finance or politics.

It’s a solid C. You can’t expect normal people to get 100 on their IQ test, that’s for people like Einstein and his monster.

I like how nobody is even talking about the fact that it says they are smarter than 84% of people when a score of 100 is supposed to be the 50th percentile.

Oh you’re absolutely right. I always forget it’s backwards. Top 84% is the same as the second line about being smarter than 16%

I find it harder to believe that the shown portion of the curve integrates to ~%15. It seems more like %30 maybe even %40.
