I still do the last panel, especially with how hot it’s been lately.
Yep and crack the windows. Ridiculous how hot it can be in a sealed car after roasting all day.
The steering wheel locks are making a comeback for Hyundai/Kia vehicles. Also, I still use the sun visor especially in this heat right now.
I think the point is that modern vehicle glazing rejects much more of the solar load due to special glass. You can buy it for house glazing too, it costs extra.
Only in america
those are Korean built
But it’s only the American sold models because the US doesn’t require immobilizers. Every other manufacturer uses them but Kia/hyundai didn’t on US models without push to start because it was cheaper.
I guess the sun disappeared after the 90s in OPs country.
Right? I was like, 🎶 “one of these things is not like the others…”
Where did all of those steering wheel locks go?
At the back of everyone’s storage unit
Into the landfills, like everything else
Or if you have an angle grinder and a welder they can become anything that requires a stout post.
Kia is sending them to their car owners for free. No joke.
The garbage bin. If someone wants your car and that’s on the wheel they’ll cut through the wheel and remove it in less than 30 seconds. It was stupid from the start.
It’s a deterrent. It reduces the odds of your window getting smashed and your ignition switch mangled. Your car should have an immobilizer anyway, and if it somehow doesn’t, you can get a kill switch installed
If wasn’t stupid for most people. If there’s your car with The Club on it, and an identical car a few spots down without The Club, which car do you think the thief will steal?
That’s right now, 2023 my guy
#2 is decent TBH (or killswitch or pedal lock), yes they can be circumvented, but they are deterrent enough usually, since most thefts these days are sit and go, especially with the advent of keyless cars.
My friend had fusible links and a keypad installed in his car. You had to punch in the correct key combination to start it, and if you got it wrong then the fuses would pop and it would be physically impossible to start the car until you replaced them. A bit drastic, but it was a rare collector’s car and we lived in a high theft area.
Ghost ignition is better. RFID and like 100 bucks. Easy to install.
I’m still rocking the Club daily!

Hyundai pleb here checking in.
Went to schedule the scam “fix” and the dealer couldn’t schedule me for 3 months.
Honda civic, I just live in an area with a lot of break ins so I figured the deterrent would be good. No issues so far, so maybe it does its job!
I’ve been waiting for you, The Club. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete.
I remember my dad doing each and every one of these, like a ritual whenever we parked.
My dads friend back then had a casette player that you could pull out. It had a handle like a little purse. He would take it anywhere, it was so goofy
Getting out of your car with the Kia boys around. (Minus maybe the 3rd one)
the two on the right are still relevant
Funny how car radios aren’t a thing any more. Another victim of the smart phone. I don’t even use the speakers because my headphones are far better at sound reproduction and they cancel 90% of the noise. It’s blissfully quiet, I can hear everything they say in the podcast. My only gripe is that my passenger accuse me of being anti social.
You really shouldn’t be using headphones while driving. It’s extremely important for everyone’s safety for you to be able to hear horns directed at you, to hear ambulances, and to hear pedestrians. Wearing headphones makes you an inattentive driver putting people at risk.
Are you insane driving around with headphones?
