Editing and changes no, creating new maybe? But likely WoC blocks this because they can’t have players make up their own stories, that’s against the spirit of role playing games (jkjk, shareholder interests).

According the the post it seems to be a technical limitation with allowing the modding support to be cross-platform

Most likely due to tight memory constraints on consoles. Can’t have people making maps that work fine on PC but cause lag on consoles. That would make the console look weak, and Microsoft / Sony can’t have that!

Am I greatly misunderstanding this, but it seems like they are saying cross platform won’t support level editing but you may still be able to do it but it will just disable cross platform play? At least that’s really what I hope it means, seems kinda vague.

That was my read too. It seemed too nonsensical to mean that they’re not doing it at all because consoles can’t handle it. If that’s really the case, well, another thing to hold against consoles.

Would have been nicer IMO if it was a checkbox to enable or disable cross platform support for your mod. Kinda annoying to be held back by consoles even if you don’t care to support them. I wonder if this is another drawback of the series S existing (probably not, but maybe).

Edit: this might actually be what they are saying, as mentioned in other comments.
