I want to continue BG3 so bad, but the D&D combat is absolutely not my cup of tea. I love the world, the story, the characters. I loathe turn-based combat. Such a bummer.

I hated it at first as well. I really had to explore a lot and level up before it got good. Unlocking more abilities as you level really helps, especially on the melee characters which get extra attacks per turn.

We abused Asto a lot as a sneak attack sniper and locksmith.

You can save mid-conversation if you’re trying to get a particular outcome.

build yourself a pacifist character and try to talk your way out of conflict!

i hate turn based combat as well, but i pushed through and i don’t regret it

honestly i just played at the lowest difficulty and picked a druid who by sheer chance turned out to be pretty OP in combat (imo). I still wanted to avoid bloodshed but when it came to it, I engaged combat from behind a corridor or a tight spot, slapped some ground spikes, and all melee enemies just died trying to walk up to me

Yeah, getting full health back when going in and out of owlbear form is pretty OP, and it hits like a truck.
