It’s definitely a… taste. I’m not sure if it’s acquired, or just quirky.
They’re relatively new to the team, though, right? I’ve been cutting them slack because I thought C&H was bringing in fresh blood, and maybe they’re just finding their pace. C&H has always been controversial-humor-friendly; Depressing Week is a good example: humor that could land very wrong with some in the audience who’ve recently experienced loss or trauma.
It reminds me of South Park, where almost no topic is off the table as a target for mockery. It’s a reason why I like it, despite finding a fair amount of the content unfunny.
I thought these were hilarious way back when I was an edgy teenager. Some of them have definitely not aged well. The comic has certainly matured a little over the years
