Update: the image is of Faris Odeh, a Palestinian boy from the Israeli-occupied Gaza Strip taken during the Second Intifada by a photojournalist from the Associated Press on 29 October 2000. Ten days later, on 8 November, Odeh was chased and shot in the neck by an Israeli soldier.

It’s an image and quote from Palestine Action Group Sydney which they made in response to the current Australian issue of the NSW government planning to outlaw phrases like “globalise the intifada”.

How does it relate? How can what the kid is doing be globalized? The IDF is in Israel and neighboring areas in the ME. The only interpretation that connects with globalizing that fight is to equate Jewish people around the world with Israel. And that deserves to be banned rhetoric.
