So I just posted a picture of a satirical “You have nothing to hide?” and it was deleted. Can I find out why I was removed? It’s a satire of the “Well I have NOTHING to hide so why should I care about data collection” argument and how that’s turned into showing IDs and Credit Cards. Someone I know said that they created it two days ago and just wanted to share it for others to share so that we can address this ludicrous mindset.
It says in the modlog: “Reason: Not a meme community”
Speaking of nothing to hide, Can only mods and admins actually view the modlog? Seems a bit silly to gatekeep when anyone can run their own instance and be an admin.
The mod log is freely visible.
Not a mod but from what you’ve said it sounds like your post was satirical, which violates the “on topic” rule.
For what it’s worth, THIS thread violates that rule too.
some mods just get butt-hurt about content in a place already starved for it. go figure…
just cross-post… theres lots of relevant communities for that kind of thing… many have almost zero moderation
I just want to understand the rules so I’m a good steward. If there’s a better community I’d like to hear it. Nothing on the rules on the right bar saying it wasn’t allowed. I see someone else posted it to another privacy community. Which is good. I’m not here for fake internet points, just trying to understand. It might be as simple as that though. IDK. :)
the beauty of the fediverse is the ability to bypass shitty moderation. this seems like a perfect example of that.
