I’ve ignored an unspoken social contract to help my communities and actively try to get all the wealth.

Must be those damn commies who made me do it.

Hey Execs, do you think maybe if you need to hide behind armed security, that you might just be going down the wrong path by doing evil shit? Also armed guards won’t help you if you make the public mad enough and destroy enough lives to where it doesn’t matter if they live or not to them. Just a thought

They were using sci-fi as their inspiration and the hype for selling their stuff and never bothered to also check the downsides portrayed in the same literature. It’s a classic gonk move to be expected from corpo scum.

No, they aren’t terrified. These people think they are demigods. I’ve seen it in plent of senior vice presidents even. It’s almost a job requirement at this point. Body guards make them feel even more important, and the company pays for it. Plus… that other tech bro has it, so I should too. That’s just the type of people we are dealing with.

It’s in my post history somewhere. Long story short, I was driving a limo for a company that transported his VC firm’s people. I was assigned to drive his luggage from the Private Jet to his home. He got off and went with my colleague who was transporting him. I was standing next to the other driver and tried to shake his hand and introduce myself and he walked right past my outstretched hand and got in the car without a word. The only luggage I was asked to transport was a single backpack. So he bought a whole separate car to transport a fucking backpack that he couldn’t be seen carrying. I really wonder if there was something illegal in there, but who knows? I never peeked. When I arrived at the home, I followed Thiel and the other driver into the home, and got scolded by the staff (likely illegal immigrants btw) because I didn’t use the service entrance. At the time, he wasn’t known as a mask off fascist and I had visions of grandeur about parlaying this into a job at his company since I was fresh out of college. Instead I got a cold shoulder and a scolding. Fun times

Good. These execs fucked with our lives and killed a lot of people. Let’s see how they like living in fear of retaliation.

I’m disgusted with the willingness to allow murder just because you disagree with the systems and products a side is producing. Stark reminder why and how lemmy is still niche with this unconstructive murderous extremism. Violence and murder is almost never the answer, especially in a democracy. People will not agree with your sentiment because you make threats, attack or kill people you dislike. My opinion might be the minority on lemmy or in this thread but its very much the social majority in general. Its good people aren’t driven insane by ideology

Cope and seethe. Come and kill my like your much hated tech CEO. The situation in the US isn’t pleasant for sure and I’m happy not to be US-citizen. But if you tolerate lawlessness in this area it might erode in others. I don’t like the way many big corporations operate. People that are politically active and support your cause with non-violent means are critical to achieve anything in democracy. Otherwise you might just repulse the ones who would otherwise agree on sane policies.

I would argue people like me is why stuff still functions. I don’t just go up to my political opponent and kill them. We are one society and we can’t let the polarization come too far

As if mainstream platforms are bastions of constructive moderate takes? And yeah that’s one of the reasons democracy is important it’s much better than solving things through violence, but if you haven’t noticed democracy is getting gleefully eroded and some of these corporate types want it gone. I don’t believe in violence either but I’m not surprised by anyone’s comments here or anywhere else. And I’d still rather be on lemmy than a corporate platform because I think no corporation should be the invisible hand middleman for ‘the public sphere’

I’m on Lemmy since I love the idea of federated platforms and open source software. I have a strong distaste for big platforms and addictive algorithms and big tech ad stalking. Just sometimes this political one-sidedness makes it hard to tolerate. I block communities and instances that I personally find distasteful. I block ML for example. I am interested in tech tho which is why I’m here.

My take on AI is different than many on here too tho. I believe under right usage and circumstances AI can be useful. I especially like Open weight and self-hosted models. As long as you’re not trafficking or raping children or doing other disgusting acts I can just refuse to use their AI platform. Doesn’t mean they deserve death, threats or attacks.

I think AI can have its benefits for science, technology and mathematics but its output should be thoroughly scrutinized. That said the legislatures i’ve personally spoken with show 0 interest in establishing any regulation.

The concerns I have aside from an even greater loss in everyone’s critical thinking and attention span stem from mass surveillance which the big CEOs are actively promoting.

I believe these people aim to cause at minimum the destruction of the middle class and seek to enshrine permanent control over human society as a hole.

They built bunkers for a reason, these are crimes against humanity and they should fear backlash because of the harm they are actively causing.

That said, i’m fine to round em up and send them to jail, or heck we can put em on one of Musks rocket and they can fuck off to Mars.
