I understand that this person is overwhelmed with emotions, and he may say that by mistake, but why anyone would call ICE specifically? They aren’t even cops. They are border guards inveneted in early 00s who shouldn’t have any business in fighting crime at all.
I think there’s an unstated presumption that the person committing the crime in question is here illegally. Basically, a lot of these people believed that Trump was going to be focusing on the “worst of the worst”. I think he’s trying to make clear that he supports getting people out of the country if they’ve committed crimes he personally thinks are serious. He still likes the idea of removing people from their communities, he just wants to be able to pick and choose who is affected.
Also, to be clear, his brother committed at least three crimes just from what he says in this short clip. You have to be a special kind of stupid to vote for mass deportations now knowing you have immediate family here that could be affected.
