A healthy work environment is welcoming to a new employee, happy and eager to see that the collective enterprise everyone is involved in is growing and changing, still persisting, like a living thing.
An unhealthy work environment fundamentally views work as toil, pain and suffering, where a new employee is a foolish outsider to their particular trauma based clique because the noobie has not yet sufficiently suffered.
So, barring something like impostor syndrome, no its not no reason, the reason is that you’ve entered into a toxic dysfunctional work culture.

I like to say "“Sorry, it’s my first day!” when I screw up at something that should be easy for me as a seasoned employee
i am older working in a new industry to me, people on other departments expect i know more about the job, wished they had lower expectation
What’s worse is this, work in a place thats been around for 40+ years owned by one guy and worked at by the same people for decades. Come in as the young new guy with no experience working with the people who have a couple decades more than you. Then work there for 20 years but always be 20-30 years behind them no matter what. You get more experience, but so do they. You can never not be the fuckin new guy. The job is tough, but everyone makes money, so no one ever leaves. So, you’re always the new guy, but you’re not going anywhere either because you know, they all have to retire sometime and then the whole thing will be yours.
The solution: Be uncompromising

I love this part, honestly. It’s my favorite game at a new job, because gossips are overeager guessers, easily misdirected by incomplete truths, and willing to do almost anything to be the one with the scoop.
Refuse this feeling: these assholes are in the same boat as you but only managed to be in this particular one a bit longer then you. That’s all there is to it.
