Got my whipper snipper replaced. But it’s a slightly different model and it’s that much heavier that it’s a bit of struggle. And it doesn’t have the heavy duty grass cutting attachment. Not happy ryobi.

Dreamed that I was living in Japan…. It was such a good feeling to be away from all the bullshit currently in my life. I’d love nothing more but to sell up and move away for a peaceful life. Japanese culture vibes with me, introvert, rules, respect, politeness etc.

Have a Tatts ticket for Saturday. Fingers crossed.

There’s also rigid social norms, excessive work hours and a population time bomb.

I guess my point is there is no nirvana and it’s tempting to romanticize somewhere else when things are shit in your life now. But things must be examined with a critical eye.

xpat life is different to local life

it can be a good break from life back home , distance can give perspective and a mental break , and that can give strength to cope with the ordinary troubles of everyday life.

I mean sure you could say that about any holiday destination.

But she said she dreamed about living in Japan which to me suggests an expat existence.

And expats may be given a free pass on a lot of things but many expats report feeling disconnect and isolated because they are not part of the culture so that has it’s own issues too.

My noise cancelling ear phones are pretty good but even they struggled against the gale forced winds this afternoon.

Been trying to remember my password for the last few days, I’ve given up so new account.

Found out I have asthma today and that’s the reason for my cough that just won’t let up. I didn’t know you could develop it as an adult? What a nice Christmas present.

It could be due to bad asthma thunderstorms, which have been happening recently. Might want to get yourself a ventolin puffer just in case

Doc prescribed me both a preventative puffer to take for the next couple weeks and the normal blue one. I just had the blue puffer earlier and I feel like I can breathe again! And barely any cough. I didn’t realise how constricted my breathing was until now.

Hoping this is seasonal and will be gone once pollen season is over 🤞

Love them! I would start with sugar syrup coloured blue/green with food colouring gel, a half shot of the spirit of your choice and topped up with lemon juice. Or mix up a rocket fuel substitute of your choice in a jug and pour into shot glasses as per requirements …

First small win for the day, I just reconciled my credit card statement and there are no errors or forgotten payments. Good work me.

Despite the setback of not having the gift card I needed I have now procured some butterflies leg lamb, about a kilo’s worth.

This is going to my my Christmas dinner as I wanted to treat myself and I love lamb though I stopped buying it since it was so expensive.

Going to try and cook it in an airfryer later in the week. Pray for me.

Thanks., I get a feeling it’s not going to take long to cook in an airfryer though cooking that much might be a bit ambitious for one person.

I forgot to mention that it’s marinated in rosemary and garlic.

I have a bottle of wine I bought a few weeks ago which I was saving for… well I dunno really… just a sunny day I suppose. Now I’m thinking maybe I’ll drink it tomorrow after I finish up for the year but I KINDA want to drink it now too.

I could always drink it now then go and get another tomorrow and drink that one too!

Whoops. My catchup today ended up going from 10-2:45… Enjoyed it so so much though. I am so grateful I reconnected with the person I met today, after 3 years’ silence…

Soooo update on my charger conundrum, I got a notification it arrived today so I checked the tracking and apparently it had arrived at 5pm yesterday and they didn’t see fit to tell me about it until 11:30 this morning

It arrived in one piece and works fine, but evidently whoever delivered it threw it over the fence and couldn’t be bothered putting it in my mailbox

Geez. You’re lucky it didn’t rain or was raining.

Glad you got it in one piece and working.

Yeah. Although part of me does somewhat wish it had so I could’ve gotten it returned and given the seller a bit of hell for using a dodgy delivery company

    Well, some things never change.

Stood around at JB trying to catch the eye/arm of anyone in a lanyard.

10 minutes later I left and bought the same product in about 30 seconds. Granted it cost $10 more, but quite frankly my time is worth more than the $1 per minute that JB expected me to wait around.

Did you demand to speak with the manager? 😁

My JB protip is to go the games or TVs section, or gaming even. There’s usually staff there.
