Happy New Year everyone!
Happy New Year everyone!
Damfino why anyone actually buys mayonnaise. It’s so damn easy to make and soooo much nicer.
There is a homemade monte carlo shaped hole in my life. Please send help (and monte carlos).
Whew! Bullet dodged I guess.
Gas, electric or induction? Eeek for a Sunday morning.
Chip butty with tomato sauce and tea please.
Fire extinguishers - who knew? 30/50 - quite pleased with myself.
Keep one empty one to use as something to do with your hands when the need strikes. Helps a lot.
Just had a look at the AFL ladder after tonight’s games. There are 6 teams on 32 points. If Hawthorn wins over West Coast tomorrow, they’ll join them for 7 teams. Even though they’ll have a crappy percentage. Next few rounds will be interesting.
Ah, understood. Cherish them.
You need TWO ball peen hammers? Or are they display copies only???
You can’t go wrong with Julia Childs’ recipie - many heaps of vijos on youtoob. This is the old school classic, and takes a fair bit of work and time. The good side is that the raw pastry freezes well, so making a large batch and only using the portion you need for one use, and then for the next use 90% of the work is already done - at least until the stash is used up. Recommend using unsalted cultured butter for the authentic flavor. The original and best.
For quick pastry, I like using the Womens Weekly Rough Puff for savory recipies - so quick and easy and the results taste just fine though the texture is not quite as flaky. Again, one zillion recipies on youtoob. You can play a bit fast and loose with the proportions for this recipie depending on what you have available, so it’s a very user friendly method. The only real secret is using chilled water to mix and resting the dough before rolling out and using. This weather is perfect for pastry - it’s a pain to make in hot weather.
Post office usually has a range of cardboard boxes for the purpose - bound to be one of an appropriate size. Or hit your local IGA for a cardboard box.
Yum. Thank you.
A bowl of delicious vegetable soup with crusty bread and a nice ripe camembert to smear on it. With coffee please Bacon.
Because my name’s not Bamber …
Home again after Crazy Day of Hell Week. I am comforting myself with the reflection that it’s a whole year before the next one. I am enjoying a much deserved glass of wine and some godlike snax (fancy as shit sandwiches from the freezer) as I cbf cooking tonight due to exhaustion. Going to tap out fairly early tonight I think. Have a drink of whatever on me folks to celebrate.
That is your job - inspiring the young to dramatic heights of achievement. Though stopping asteroids might be more appropriate for secondary school students but you never know with today’s younguns.

Will put my tinfoil hat on now.
Does seem that they’re setting themselves up to fail - and each to have enough material to put the blame on the other. Shit show coming up, so I would suggest distancing yourself - you have enough to cope with with your own responsibilities. They need professional help (and sounds like both need a good kick up the backside too).
There’s a reason why airlines stress that you should put on your own oxygen mask BEFORE putting them on your kids.
