It only uses some of signal’s code. Not necessarily the OOTB key storage and security.

What’s to stop an evil company uploading the keys as soon as you enter them in the App? It certainly wouldn’t stop Meta.

Yep, If they can access messages that are deleted from your device, then they have the keys.

They used Signal’s code for the encryption and decryption, they just also took a copy of everyone’s cryptographic keys with their own code.
They only lied by omission.

I don’t think it can be called End to End Encryption if it is actually End to End and The guy in the Middle.
Every technical definition of End to End Encryption states only the Sender and Recipient have keys to decrypt the message.
Anything else is using “End to End Encryption” purely as a marketing term like “Lite” or “Pure”.

Also building more public housing and zoning laws favouring YIMBYs.
For small cities, large cities had multiple white pages books. A-F G-N O-Z for example.
The yellow pages only had businesses. It was the big white book that had all the people’s numbers in it. It also had addresses O.o

That was an achievement.

When I was a kid, my stepdad set up a telescope so I could see Haley’s comet in all its glory. I’ll almost certainly be dead by the time it’s back in 2061.

I’m be ready to try it. Having to take my readers off to walk around, and put them on to glance at my phone is a real drag. I also need another pair for using my PC as the screen is further away. It’s a real hassle, so I’d pay really good money to have a good looking pair that auto-adjusts for these uses.
If it’s a subscription model though, it can eat a bag of dicks.

I think anyone over 45 should be ineligible for president. Older people don’t have enough skin in the game to care about the long term future.
I knew it was brave to admit that on here lol
I’ll find an alternate browser for my occasional fap sessions to keep you happy :)

So if they encrypt it before transmission it gets through.
If the service decides to encrypt the tracking data and send it to their own servers with their normal content before sending it on to the tracking servers, there’s no way to isolate it other than prevent it being collected in the first place. I believe Meta already does this to hide the vast amount of data they steal from your device with all their apps. It’s how they can hide the data they scrape via hacks that bypass regular sandboxing and permission restrictions.
I keep chrome installed purely for Google apps. Edge for MS apps (mainly for work). Brave for porn with a VPN only so I can save cookies with my preferences, and lastly Firefox focus for browsing and default open as it clears everything on close automatically.
I don’t install social media apps unless they are 3rd party and don’t have tracking and ads, lemmy has some great apps.
Gotta keep them separated now.

And some of them have ridiculous dosages. For example some have up to 10x the recommended maximum daily B12 amount and that can and does cause permanent nerve damage if taken daily for an extended period. My wife caught it early when symptoms hadn’t gotten chronic yet, she was lucky.

Yeah the lack of fiber will do a lot of damage over time too.
Or they can make a copy of the encryption keys on creation. Using the code is very different than using the code unedited, or using all the code.
