But asking everybody else to download and use an app for just a single gc when all of their other chats are on other apps (that everybody else also already has) is far too demanding. Especially people you’ve just met and are trying to befriend

It’s just a little too self serving. Downloading Insta is free and you don’t have to participate in Insta bullshit. I think even a Messenger account works since Meta implemented cross platform chats
Now if they were asking for an iMessage gc and you have an Android then that’s fine to complain about because iPhones aren’t free and you’d have to replace your current choice of phone too
