As another longtime Vi user - I had a hell of a time & wound up switching back lol
I think for a lot of folks Helix would be intuitive. Vi has her hooks in me, though.

Oh. I know. But you don’t understand - I’m compelled to type it out. I must.
clear
. Constantly, and for no reason.
Thank you for the write-up!!
Another vote for the ErgoDox EZ. It’s pricey but very much worth the investment. Makes me hate every other keyboard I use lol
Notes while I’m watching:
The “built-in support for mods” caught my eye. That’s pretty slick, and a headache with MC.
tl;dr - it runs on just about everything, and focuses on giving the player an easy-to-mod “sandbox” to play in.
Gotta brush up on the ol’ powershell
Just occurred to me - are there streamers who read books aloud for their audience? Like a live audiobook?
The scariest thing in the world would be if they gave Sinbad another tv show.
That sounds awesome.
It’d be cool to get enough of 'em together to start a decent Lemmy community.
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Super Mario 64 - a launch title, iirc? - murdered my control stick. Spinning that around to swing Bowser was a great game design idea, but yeah they didn’t build those controllers to withstand it for long.
Guerrillas
It’s either:
Figure I’ll wait for the re-remake. realRiven will be fun for a while, and the Masterpiece edition will add some nice quality of life improvements, but the real champ will be Riven (2032).
I don’t get NixOS
It’s not for everyone. The idea is to have your entire system reproducible with a few configuration files, which you’d then ideally store in a VCS like git.
I haven’t messed with it, but there is something appealing about the ability to reboot to an older snapshot of the system if an update breaks something, or being able to use a config file to restore your system to the exact OS version and exact versions of whatever apps you use.
It’s only been “irrelevant” because of the poor reception to Sims 4. The Sims was the first great “life sim” game, and the 3rd installment added a crazy amount of content. That’s all we wanted. More stuff to decorate with and places for our Sims to explore. Nah, Sims 4 took away the variety and added paywalls and multiplayer and was just generally a poor experience.
For anyone holding out hope for #5, this is on par with Blizzard announcing their smartphone diablo game. EA killed this franchise, and yeah I’m a little sad about it.
