13·3 months agoSticker Ninja is a really great small company that puts out really quality stickers.
Note that this is described species. Beetles are really easy to preserve and are often super cool. There are likely more species in other orders, but they haven’t had as much work done on them. Hymenoptera, for example, with all of the parasitic wasps probably has more species but they can be so freaking small and difficult to work with.
Sorry, I am like a wanna be entomologist who works with akshual entomologists and this is one of the things that triggers them
I do wash my ass in the shower
Obviously unpopular opinion, but I prefer one ply. The fluffy stuff always leaves lint which I think is pretty gross. I also find it more adjustable, like maybe I only need one square to wipe up a little toothpaste but I can also use three feet to wipe my ass.

1·1 year agoSometimes I can turn that around and say something like “I’m not sure, what about you?”. I think often people just ask us about a topic because they want to say something about it.

Excuse me, Mrs. Wasp, on a scale of 1-10 how much do you agree with the following statements?
I put out traps baited with pheromone lures (mainly) and then go around collecting samples and checking to see if we caught what we were looking out for. Some of the samples go back to the lab and everything gets identified to make sure there is nothing new or to track how far things have moved. We are mainly looking for crop pests that are not yet known to the area.
