Wait this is in Finland? At that level of dystopian I was expecting it to be in the USA… That is an insane application process for a grocery store job.

You’re the one throwing around you people and getting all mad because I didn’t pick up on sarcasm. Not exactly a crime and certainly not intended to offend. I don’t see where I haven’t been chill.
That’s the biggest joke, that you tried to be nice.
I’m not insulted nor mad. Have not seen anyone else react. I’m just confused about your reaction.
I guess we have different online experiences. Have a good one.
Ah yes, starting out with you people, the nicest way to do things. In case you didn’t realize plain text loses intonation and body language. Makes it hard to understand certain implications.
I’ve never seen a Taco Bell add and thought I was missing out. I’m not suddenly craving plastic looking food.
That sounds like a dream. I think public broadcasting is an excellent use of tax
dollarsmoney.
Lolz who is going to tell orioler25?
I use a vpn that builds in Adblock, and only stream ad free services. I see very few ads in general so when I am subjected to them it’s a visceral reaction. It makes me hate the product intensely. That seems to align with what you’re describing.
I also tend to overthink purchases and research them if there is not a suitable local option. I’m not just ordering the first thing that comes to mind, I’m picky.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do LLMs "have" the "abillity" to be told they are wrong or incorrect and be able to contest that?
2·2 days agoThanks for the offer but I’m good for now. I find that web searches get me where I need to go. I find scientific papers easily that way.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Can we finally admit that Lemmy is just Reddit trying to tell you its not Reddit?English
28·3 days agoThat is pretty funny that after your thorough and extensive comparison the result is blocking. Thanks for taking the time to do that though. I’m new and recently transitioned from Reddit. It definitely feels very different here but I didn’t know how to describe it. The end really is much less hostility in general. I feel like there are more constructive conversations happening despite occasional breakdowns.
What kind of stupid take is this? I avoid ads because I find them annoying. It doesn’t supercharge the ones I can’t avoid.

16·3 days agoThe pandering is really unnerving when you’re not used to it. I’ve used chatGPT only once and it was to edit my resume since I hate doing that. It helped with consistency and wanted active verbs in there which was fine. It was the constant compliments at the top of every response that was so weird. Like I’m asking for feedback, not to hear how wonderful of a writing job I already did. I felt like I was being handled like an oversensitive child.
It is crazy how much of a price difference there is in between ordering and shopping/cooking. We’re really lucky to have a weekly farmers market with an incredible fish stand. They sell better quality and cheaper fish than Whole Foods so that compounds our savings too.
It’s definitely healthier than what he was ordering. Plus you get to prepare exactly what you want and how you like it. It’s been so gratifying to see him expand his cooking skills with fish. He can rival most restaurants now in my opinion in terms of tastiness. Definitely found a keeper.
It’s wild isn’t it?!
Sorry if it bothers you. I’m finding it comforting to get some context on Reddit’s practices though. It feels like closure since I recently deleted my account after getting shadow banned. Hope you have a nice day.

I wish I had a good answer. Unfortunately it’s on social media because people believe what they want to a lot of times. I was at a geology conference this one time presenting a poster and was approached by a seemingly nice gentleman. After hearing my spiel he starts lecturing me about how none of this is possible because the Earth is only 6 000 years old. A little bit later I actually got to meet a flat earther in person! The fact that those two people not only hold those beliefs but felt the need to go spread the word at a geology conference is quite confusing to me. When you compound the effects of social media algorithms a lot of people don’t stand a chance.
