  • Pretty happy with myself for not doing my usual ‘i just bought groceries but now I want uber eats’ and giving in to the temptation. Ended up making a salad of ruby burst grape tomatoes, red capsicum, cucumber, coriander and mersey valley cheddar and pulled it all together with some salt and lime. Just smashed the salad and waiting for my expensive nuggies (the inghams ciabatta coating ones to) Hurry up and cook.

  • Did you actually read any of that? because it supports what I said that Tyrannosaurus was not a pure scavenger and provides multiple examples of how the scavenger hypothesis is wrong. Jack Horner’s hypothesis has been securely debunked both by fossil evidence on animals that would have been prey for tyrannosaurus and by what we can confidently ascertain from studying the biomechanics of Tyrannosaurs themselves. If you use modern predators as a example, none purely subsist off scavenging. All modern predators engage in both behaviours and it stands to reason that T-rex did the same.

  • Snakes of all species will generally try to avoid conflict and generally flee when they sense the vibrations of something larger coming towards them. To snakes, dogs are potential predators and snakes will engage in a number of threat displays to scare a potential predator off before resorting to biting. If the dog ignores those threat displays it is will sadly get bit.

People need to be more responsible for their pets and keep them supervised. It’s not like snakes are intentionally seeking out dogs to bite. That tiktok is blatant fearmongering and all it is going to do is villainise snakes and encourage people to harm them.

  • Autism I strongly suspected after reading and watching some stuff about people who were diagnosed later in life and a lot of it just rung true. For years I thought I was just a chronically depressed, traumatised, introvert. I undertook some counselling this year which really helped with most of the trauma stuff. But the feeling of being burnt out, alienated and depressed was still lingering among other things. Last year I also had my manager at the time say to me that they thought I might have ADHD, which they themselves had and recommended I look into getting assessed. I was prepared for it, but it still came as a surprise. But holy shit did it explain a lot about me so I’m glad I decided to take the plunge and find out.
