The very first thing I said in this screed is “downvote it all you want”. Is there something there that you don’t understand? That was it until I was attacked as I am now. However, your way was to do it was indirectly. You wouldn’t do it directly to me. Only now do you engage. Now you seek to minimize me to suit your needs. You must be a real treat to live with, but deep down you’re a coward.

Originally this post was well past double figures downvotes. That puts it beneath a threshold to be displayed on any page. Why would a person spend the time to submit something no one would see?

Went to a party for JPL once. Like any other group of folks, they are diverse but nice folks. They just happen to be brilliant for the most part. Sometimes nerdy with a dash of weird. Some of them have been working on the same project for decades.

When you get product you pay for it. Spending means paying for it. You may have a contract for future product, but you don’t pay for the future product in advance as SOX rules kick in. Commonly, a chip development cycle can be at least 10 months.
