So, I was kind of correct… but also not quite correct enough!

Interesting that the screen has such an aggressive curve, but the scanlines and text box are relatively straight.

1·2 years agoI can handle shitty graphics, it’s the framerates that really mess with me.
I sometimes forget that some games on Switch cap at 30fps. Jumping from a 165hz display running 165fps to a 60hz display running 30fps is… a bit jarring.

Politics@beehaw.org•Education Activists Urge Harris Not to Tap Josh Shapiro for VP
0·2 years agoAh yes, the solution is to give a few students in each poorly-funded school district the opportunity to go to a well-funded private school instead of just funding the public schools.
The charter school grift is evolving.
What kind of infographic is that? Convection in large bodies of water? I’m not familiar :(

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•people who deliver or install things to people 's houses. what kind of odd things have you seen?
9·2 years agoAs a teenager, my parents would only let me have a PC if it was situated outside of my room, so naturally, I put my setup in my basement. I was excited to play games in the coolest (temp-wise) room in the house, up until the day a camel cricket decided to jump up my pants and continue to work its way up until I smashed it against myself.
Yuck.
I like to imagine that the childbots are made in the image of the parentbots, and the childbots eventually are tasked with picking out preferred larger parts as a growing rite.

5·2 years agoFor the 2nd one, better safe than sorry. You would feel like more of a dumbass if you heard a story in the news about a gas leak fire, or some other form of damage/injury/death.

Technology@beehaw.org•Oral-B bricking Alexa toothbrush is cautionary tale against buzzy tech
7·2 years agoI just wanted to point out that Oral B’s basic electric toothbrushes still range from $45-$80, so it’s not quite as cheap as you say it is. Your point still stands in its entirety. The only thing that makes this product different from the $45 model is the Alexa functionality, and taking that away makes it effectively not the same product.
Computer anxiety can be pretty awful. I’m in a long distance relationship as well, and when my partner’s laptop broke (charger port issue) we were stuck communicating only through their phone. For a couple that likes to remotely play games together and watch media together, this is a huge roadblock.
We ended up utilizing a (used) chromebook as a temporary solution until we were able to regain access to the laptop after repairs.
The mathematician one could easily be turned into benzene and then suddenly it’s also a chemistry pancake!
If 0/0 is NaN, then does that mean 0*NaN = 0*0/0 = 0?

2·2 years agoIf you do enjoy the gameplay loop of monster hunter in general, that humble bundle is very nice to have. Good value there, lots of hours to be had in both games + both DLCs.

Gaming@lemmy.ml•Half Of PlayStation Players Still Haven't Upgraded To PS5
1·2 years agoShouldn’t FF16 also be on this list? Given that FF7 Rebirth will almost definitely see a PC port, I don’t think the ongoing development of an FF16 PC port should exclude it from the list.

I’m not really understanding why this portrait looks this way… Is the black blob on the bottom left his bent leg? If it is his bent leg, what’s the tan colored bit at the bottom? Or is the black blob some random giant pouch on his hip, alongside the other more pouch-like object on his hip? Is the bow being held close to his body (arm bent?) or does he have a short left arm?
So many questions…
I had to learn emacs for my engineering computation class, up to the point that we were required to present our code in emacs if we had questions to ask during office hours.
I got quite used to it by the end of that course.
This is basically the first joke I made when I talked about the news to friends.
For me, green was chemistry, red was biology, purple was physics, and blue was math. Orange would probably be Spanish, and pink or any other colors would be left over for English, social studies, etc.
Then simply change the statement to say for any whole number X

I’m thinking a big C with an inscribed O, and maybe the O can have a map/globe/compasa inside of it.
